If you’re anything like me, the bookstore is definitely your kid-in-a-candy-shop moment. (And, let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to be surrounded in sweet, book-y goodness?) For those of you looking for your next fix, feast your eyes on the following young adult series worth binging on.

The Jacoby Series by William Ritter

For anyone obsessed with mysteries and the Sherlock Holmes stories (like me), Ritter’s Jacoby series is a gateway drug to a full-time addiction. It takes all the classic elements of the Holmes stories but mixes in the supernatural. I can’t remember the last time I picked up a book and then had to run immediately to the bookstore to get the next one because the intrigue factor was 100.

Miss Peregrine Series by Ransom Riggs

A couple years back, I traveled a lot, so I got an Audible subscription and downloaded the Miss Peregrine Series. I was legit hooked 2.5 seconds after starting the audio book. Driving while listening to the first book is not advised, lest you want to get caught going 90 mph in a 65 mph stretch of highway. Oops. If you saw the movie and weren’t really moved by the story, please give the books a chance. I’m obsessed with books where characters tell emotion-driven stories, and this was one that really pulled at my heart while simultaneously exciting me like no other.

The Selection Series by Kiera Cass

Every time I go to Barnes and Noble, I want to snatch up this entire series, mostly because I’m in love with the cover design. While I haven’t gotten a chance to really dig into the series just yet, it’s on my list. Sources tell me this series is one to easily binge on, and has Hunger Games-type vibes. I’m in.

The Rise of Peter Troy Series by Joseph DiBartolo

While I’ve never been a Walking Dead fan, this series really beckons to me. Somehow, it found its way to the top of my Must Read list. I got connected with Joseph DiBartolo, another indie author like myself, on Facebook a couple years back and have been following his career ever since. No joke, guys: His books have surpassed even Steven King’s work on the top seller’s lists, so obviously, he’s got some cred. If you’re looking for a horror fix for Halloween this year, snatch up his entire series on Kindle.

LA Candy Series by Lauren Conrad

Being a Hills fan, it wasn’t far-fetched that I’d run to the bookstore to pick up Lauren Conrad’s reality show-based series, LA Candy. And let me tell you: I binged this series so hard in college. I read through the entire series so fast, I can’t even remember parts of the books because I had to know what happened next. I’d definitely recommend this series to those who can’t get enough reality TV and need a little bit of drama in their lives.

BONUS: Alex in Wunderstrande Series by Kale Lawrence

Okay, I might be biased on this one. Actually, super biased. As in so biased, I should probably delete the last couple lines and just start over. But, I honestly think if you’re interested in reading the previous books, you’ll probably get hooked on this one, too. Why? I truly believe teen readers will strongly identify with the main themes of the book: discovering who you are, rising above social issues (like war and violence, sexism, and classism), as well as discerning the truth from the lies in media and government. All of that is tied together with a steampunk bow on top.

What are you waiting for? Get to the bookstore or library and get reading!
